Originally the purpose was to assist children up to the age of 13 years resident in higham ferrers with the cost of moving into secondary education but this is no longer feasible and for a number of years the funds have been used to assist the primary schools in the town with the provision of additional items and equipment which they are unable to provide within their normal budgets.
