The quaker tapestry is an exhibition of 77 embroidered panels made by 4,000 people from 15 countries between 1981 and 1996. The modern community textile project depicts the social and political context in which quakerism developed from 1652 to the present day. Since 1994 it has been housed in kendal's historic quaker meeting house and constitutes one of the largest community textiles in the world.
