Women seeking asylum in cardiff who would otherwise birth alone are supported with regular visits from volunteers during late pregnancy; with comfort measures and nurturing presence throughout labour and delivery; then home visits to 8 weeks postnatal. We increase women's sense of their own value, their access to information, awareness of options and signpost to appropriate services.
