The trust owns a collection of over 40,000 objects, documents and photographs chronicling the history of the king's own royal regiment from its formation in 1680 to its amalgamation in 1959 with the border regiment to form the king's own royal border regiment. By agreement with the city council of lancaster, the collection is curated, stored, exhibited and managed by lancaster city museums.
