The north downs society is a public amenity society with the following objects: a) to conserve natural features and ecology, b) to encourage the preservation of buildings of historic interest and a high standard of design in all new developments and planning proposals, c) to stimulate public interest in the history, character, beauty and wild-life of the countryside, d) to further general amenity.
