The charity activities were limited during this accounting period due to the youth club being closed. In september 2008 a new committee was formed and young people from the village submitted a youth capital fund application to durham county council to refurbish the old methodist church hall as a youth club. This work was completed in early 2009 and the youth club re-opened in april 2009.
