Woodhead mountain rescue team operates under the umbrella of the peak district mountain rescue organisation. It works under the control of local police forces to search and assist the police; in the peak district, in wild & remote areas, in urban areas and in other areas when called upon to do so. All team members are volunteers. The team relies entirely on fundraising and donations.
